3 reasons that costed CSK playoffs spot in IPL 2022, eliminated by MI

CSK Out From Playoffs: IPL 2022 has been no less than a nightmare for Chennai Super Kings. The team had to be out of the race for the playoffs. The 59th match of IPL 2022 was played between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

In this match, Mumbai Indians defeated CSK by 5 wickets in a bang style. There have been three major reasons for CSK not reaching the playoffs in IPL 2022.

Star players out

In the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, Chennai Super Kings had roped in Deepak Chahar for Rs 14 crore, but due to injury, he was ruled out of the entire tournament.

Adam Milne and Ravindra Jadeja also did not play the entire season. The CSK team had to bear the lack of these players and the team had to be out of the playoff race after losing consecutively.

Captain changed in the middle of IPL

Before IPL 2022, Mahendra Singh Dhoni left the captaincy of CSK, after that Ravindra Jadeja was made the captain, but Jadeja could not lead the team properly. He just couldn’t find the right team combination.

Under his captaincy, the team won only two out of 8 matches. After that he left the captaincy of the team midway. Jadeja could not show amazing game with ball and bat. When Dhoni again became the captain of the team, he too could not show any charisma.

Poor bowling in the tournament

The bowling of Chennai Super Kings looked very weak throughout the tournament. Mitchell Santner, Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali could not do any wonders. Opposing batsmen looted runs against these bowlers.

The team had to pay the brunt of their poor form by losing. At the same time, CSK bowlers proved to be very expensive. At the same time, legendary bowlers like Dwayne Bravo failed to stop the runs. The biggest reason for Chennai Super Kings not reaching the playoffs was poor bowling.
