Cricket4 Players Who Are Likely To Play Their Last IPL In 2022

Performance is the best measurement and certainly, it depends on what you can do with the present opportunity. It is said that cricket is such a game where a player cannot get a place in the team for a long time on the basis of previous performance.

What we saw happening with Suresh Raina is an example of how your records can work against and only your performance and contribution to the present team decides your future in the team. Similar cases will be repeated with other players in the coming times. Thus, their performance in IPL 2022 will be a decisive one for their career.

Dinesh Kartik

Dinesh Karthik’s name comes at the top of the list. Surely, his IPL career is in trouble. Last year, he scored only 149 runs in 10 matches at a simple average of 29.80 without any half-century. In 2020, playing 14 matches, only 169 runs were scored from his bat at an average of 14.08.

His performance has been on a steady decline since 2018. In such a situation, if this year also he is not able to perform well for his new team Royal Challengers Bangalore, then it will be almost impossible for him to get a place in any team next year.

Wriddhiman Saha

Next in this list comes the name of Wriddhiman Saha. Currently embroiled in controversy and left out of the Indian team, Saha scored only 131 runs in 9 matches of the IPL last year at a poor average of 14.55.

In 2020, he could play only 4 IPL matches. This time if he is not able to win Gujarat Titans with his performance, then there is every possibility of his international career as well as IPL career coming to a complete halt.

Varun Aaron

Varun Aaron was once highly rated for his speed. Then suddenly his career graph started going down. In the 2021 IPL, he did not get a chance to play a single match.

However in 2020, he played 3 matches, he conceded 94 runs at an average of 11.75. If he does not do well for Gujarat Titans in 2022, then his career is bound to come to a full stop.

Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane, who was dropped from the Indian Test team due to poor form, also has a ‘do or die’ situation this time around. In IPL 2021, his bat scored 8 runs in 2 matches, while playing 9 matches in the 2020 season, he scored a total of 113 runs at an average of 14.12.

This year, if he doesn’t score runs in the T20 format, we may see Rahane for the last time playing in the biggest cricket league in the world.
