Bayern president Herbert Hainer has made a statement which many will not agree with about Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has been in unstoppable form this season and it’s hard to think he’s in the latter stages of his career. The 35-year-old who celebrated his birthday earlier this week is a catalyst either in the pitch or outside the pitch.

Ronaldo has scored 22 goals in 27 appearance for Juventus this season. in regardless, the Bayern hierarchy insist they have no reason to sign Ronaldo as his age doesn’t suit their needs.

The German outfit has been linked to the Portuguese but their president has ruled out any chance of that happening.

Speaking to TZ in Germany through Football Italia, Bayern President Hainer was asked about their interests in a bid for CR7 next season.

He replied, “Lots of names appear in the papers and that is entirely understandable. But he is too old for us.”

Nonetheless, Ronaldo might be “too old” for Bayern but he continues to deliver the goods wherever he is. Bayern’s loss and nobody else’s.

Berbatov backs phenomenal Ronaldo

Ronaldo’s former United teammate, Berbatov backed him to continue playing at the top level till he’s 40. Even on his birthday, Ronaldo himself admitted he wants to keep playing till he’s 40.

Berbatov is in full praise of the Portuguese international. He sees no reason why he can’t play till the age of 40.

As usual, footballers are normally expected to decline from around the age of 34 or so. But Ronaldo continues to defy all reasonable odds and sets records upon records like he’s in the peak of his career.

Berbatov believes Ronaldo can emulate Giggs and stay at the top for many years. He said, “Cristiano Ronaldo turned 35 this week and is still at the top of his game. He’s scored 33 goals this season which is phenomenal.”

“Ronaldo has said he wants to be playing at the highest level when he’s 40. I can see him doing that. Ryan Giggs was playing for United at 40 and, when you have good coaches around you, who know how to manage you, it is possible.”

“The Portuguese star is still fired up and it is a joy to me to see him and 38-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic performing brilliantly. I did ask myself recently If I had retired too soon. But you need to listen to your body and know when to stop.”
