Kylian Mbappe is in the verge of losing his value to as little as €35-40m due to the coronavirus pandemic. This statistic is in the courtesy of the French MEP Daniel Cohn-Bendit.

In recent weeks, Mbappe has been linked with a big-money exit from PSG. Liverpool has circled around the Frenchman but is Real Madrid who is believed to be favorites to land the 21-year-old.

Paris St-Germain signed Mbappe for a massive €180m back in 2017. Ever since his stock has risen and it’s only normal that Real Madrid would have to pay at least €200m for PSG to consider selling at the moment.

With the coronavirus affecting football in terms of finances, there is a high likely hood that it could also disrupt the transfer window.

The situation could ring in changes so bad that Mbappe’s value might reduce to a fraction of what PSG paid Monaco for his services three years ago as per member of the European Parliament Daniel Cohn-Bendit.

“After the coronavirus crisis is over, Mbappe will not be worth more than 35 or 40 million euros rather than 200.” Said Bendit.

“And who will be able to buy him?”

“This crisis will clean up the irrationality of professional sports. It is as if there had been a nuclear attack and everything has to be rebuilt but at other bases.”

“There will be de facto regulation and it will be necessary to go even further with a salary cap. It is a reorganization that hits not only player salaries but also image rights and advertising. We have to break the system of agents of those who do exorbitant business in football. I don’t think players will be worse because they are paid less.”

“It will be criminal in any way to imagine a world where a player like Mbappe goes for that amount.”
