The Tottenham midfielder, Dele Alli was held at knifepoint during a burglary in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The Tottenham and England midfielder, Dele Alli, lives in North Lindon where he is spending lockdown with his brother and their respective partners.

Two men on Wednesday early mornings broke into the 24-year-old’s house. Alli was threatened and punched during the incident and suffered minor facial injuries in a scuffle.

The intruders stole items of jewelry including watches. Luckily, Alli had a CCTV footage to the police. The footage confirmed the two male residents were assaulted during the incidents. Reports claimed Alli was one of those attacked.

The police have confirmed no arrests in connection with the incident has yet been made, but inquiries into the incident are ongoing.

“Two makes gained entry to the property and stole items of jewelry including watches before fleeing.” A police statement read.

“Two male occupants at the property suffered minor facial injures after being assaulted. They did not require hospital treatment.”

The club offered their support to the England midfielder with the spokesperson saying, “We have been offering our support to Dele and those isolated with him. We encourage anyone with any information to help the police with the investigation to come forward.”

The midfielder has thanked everyone who sent him their very best wishes after the incident.

On Twitter, he wrote, “Thank you for all the messages. Horrible experience but we are all okay now. Appreciate the support.”

The incident, however, comes two months after the family of Alli’s Tottenham team-mate Jan Vertonghen was burgled by armed men with knives in North London.

The robbery at Vertonghen’s home occurred while he was in Germany for Spur’s Champions League match against RB Leipzig in March.
