Bruno Fernandes has praised Cristiano Ronaldo while fondly recalling the Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United fans with an abundance of memories to cherish when he ended his six-year stay at the club in 2009 and joined Real Madrid.

It is not an easy task to pick Ronaldo’s standout performance in United colors, but the match against Chelsea in the 2008 Champions League final tries hard to make its case.

The Portuguese opened the scoring for his side with a towering header to rise beyond anybody’s reach and put the ball past Petr Cech. Frank Lampard’s equalizer forced the match to penalty shootouts which eventually went United’s way.

Bruno Fernandes, who joined the Reds recently took a look back on Man United’s one of the biggest fixtures.

When asked in a Q&A session on the official club website about the Man United match he would most like to relive, Fernandes answered, “I think from history I have maybe one game. The Champions League final when Cristiano scores with the header.”

“I think it was a great final and for Cristiano, it was one of the best games yet. Because he scoffed an amazing goal with a header. He doesn’t jump, he flies.”

“After this, he missed the penalty but at the end United won the Champions League and we saw him crying on the ground because he won the League. It was one of the most important games in the history of Manchester United.”
