Coppa Italia to be completed before the Serie A begins
Italy’s Coppa Italia semi-finals and subsequent final will be played and the Cup presented before the Serie A resumes on 20th June.
The dates for Italy’s Coppa Italia have been moved by one day to help with recovery time and any potential fixture pile-up. The trophy will now be decided upon and presented before the league competition resumes.
According to Football Italia, Italy’s sports minister confirmed the Coppa Italia semi-final, and final dates had been moved after discussions with Serie A.
The semi-finals were originally scheduled to take place on June 13 and 14 but the government has accepted a request from Serie A to move the two fixtures forward by an extra day.
Juventus and AC Milan will be the first two teams back in action after the coronavirus-enforced break on June 12. Napoli will take on Inter Milan the following day. The final will then take place in a one-off final at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on June 17th.
For the Rossoneri, it will be a tough task at the Allianz Stadium as the first leg 1-1, after the Bianconeri scored a last-minute penalty. Furthermore, Theo Hernandez, Samu Castillejo, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the games and this will be a big blow.
The battle for the Scudetto will then resume on June 20th and go uninterrupted until its conclusion.
