The manager answered questions about the upcoming friendly and what it means for Le Havre to host a club as big as PSG during this difficult time in history, as it will be the first opened to the public in Western Europe since last March.

“For the public and for local players it’s great. In a lifetime we don’t always play PSG. We sometimes never play PSG! I do not want to fuel the controversies in Paris–province but, today, it is the most beautiful club in France, the most beautiful team. I know people who are not crazy about football but who have found my number because…Marquinhos, Neymar, Kylian Mbappé. Because PSG, quite simply,” Wantiez said.

For Le Havre, the match against PSG is historic and important. But for manager Thomas Tuchel and the players, the number one priority is match fitness and finding their rhythm after being away from the game for months due to the coronavirus.

This means the French giants PSG will only have two matches to prepare for their two domestic cup finals against AS Saint-Étienne and Olympique Lyonnais at the end of the month. Then, the UEFA Champions League resumes in August.

Meanwhile, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has come out to defend the Olympique Lyonnais’ sporting director Juninho, on his recent controversial comment that led Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director Leonardo responded by telling his compatriot to focus on his club and squad.

“He did not do it to attack PSG. He loves Neymar. He says that Neymar is probably the most talented player,” Aulas said. “But he quoted Neymar as saying that he is a great player and especially to say that Neymar may have desires elsewhere and that money did not solve everything,” Aulas said.

On other news, the 2020/2021 season fixtures are out with the French giants PSG set to host FC Metz on Sunday, August 23 2020 in their opening match at home and their first away match of the season against RC Lens Sunday, August 30, 2020.

The classiques match will see PSG welcome Olympique de Marseille on Sunday, September 13 2020 in their Round 3 match of 2020/2021 season with the second leg of the classiques see Paris Saint-Germain traveling away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, to Olympique de Marseille in the Round 24 match day.
