Barca’s shock win against Juventus – Lionel Messi scores penalty
There are big changes in Barcelona. The president and whole management board resigned yesterday, so Lionel Messi has to be happy with the outcome. Barca played against Juventus on Wednesday night.
Unlike Juventus, Barcelona is in a tough situation in La Liga. After a few matches, Barcelona is in the 10the position. Saturday evening was a disaster for Barca – they lost season’s first El Clasico. Los Blancos played well against Barcelona and pressed the Catalonian team high. Barca could only score one and conceded three. Journalists and fans were angry with Messi and the whole team. The performance from Barca was not anything near to prime form.
1st half of the match
Cristiano Ronaldo V Lionel Messi is a big headline but CR7 was absent. As you may know, Portuguese player has a covid-19. Striker could not help Juventus in Serie A too, he is recovering from covid-19 for the last 15 days. In the absence of Ronaldo, Pirlo decided to start with Alvaro Morata as the only striker. Dybala and Kulusevski were helping Morata to score the goal.
Barcelona’s coach had few changes in the starting line-up. Unlike El Clasico, Dembele started the match from the very first minute. Dembele and Griezmann were playing on different wings and helping Lionel Messi as a false nine. Lionel Messi was good in the first half. He helped the team to score the goal. After Messi’s cross, Dembele scored the goal. Unfortunately to Juventus fans, Alvaro Morata scored two goals in first half but both goals were disallowed.
2nd half of the match
Juventus started the second half with aggressively pressing the defense of Barca. Alvaro Morata soon scored the equalizer but unfortunately he was offside again. Alvaro Morata scored three goals and all of those goals were disallowed by the VAR system. Barcelona was really good in attacking points. Griezmann had a chance to score as he was one-on-one against Juve’s goalkeeper. In the end, Messi scored penalty and increased the lead to two goals.
