Now it almost feels like we know what is wrong with Sunrisers Hyderabad, they are unable to win because there is no intent from the batters. SRH captain Aiden Markram himself clarifies the cause in a disappointing manner.

2 win in 2 matches for Delhi Capitals and they have stood up to the challenge, the effort, the intent, the drive to win is there and it is completely lacking in SRH’s batting line-up.

Rahul Tripathi may be a great player but in the end, team should come first and at the moment, he is not playing for team but only for himself. In a low scoring match, he batted until 13th over and scored 15 off 21 balls before getting out.

Hyderabad fans are not happy at all the way he played, it is not only leaving the work undone but also making it difficult for batters to come because he had already soaked up too many deliveries on a slow surface.

Regardless of how tough the wicket was, it was pretty dead chase from SRH batters. At no stage, it felt that they are going for win but only individual score. On a slow surface like this, a team must score at least 50-50 in first over to give a real dent to the chase.

However, it didn’t happen and what is more surprising, is that SRH didn’t even lose wickets in that period. At 69, Mayank Agrawal was dismissed by Axar Patel and from theron things changed rapidly.

74/2 became 85/5 in no time as it happened in the first innings when 56/2 became 62/5 in no time but in Delhi Capitals’ case, they had a decent start at their hand which allowed them to cruise last 140 runs mark.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was par excellence in the balling, he didn’t deserve to be on the losing side and Aiden Markram himself confessed it.

In the post match talk, Aiden Markram was asked about what cost them match and he said, “We were just not good with the bat. Again, not enough intent. Looked like a team that was not excited to win a game of cricket unfortunately.”

“So we’ll have to go back and and see how we can chase better, be more free as a team, be more free as a unit and hopefully that can help us going forward.”

Talking about team confidence and dressing room decisions, Markram said, “Yeah, it’s difficult. You can say all the right things, but ultimately guys need to buy into it.”

“We want to play a certain brand of cricket and if we get it wrong doing that I think we’ll we’ll sleep a lot better at night. But unfortunately tonight we just lacked a bit of intent and we’ve got really good players and and really good batters and unfortunately I think we’re just letting ourselves down through a lack of intent.”

SRH batters were disappointing to the cause but there’s nothing you can take away from their bowling effort which was upto its best.

“Incredibly proud of them and it’s a pity we couldn’t get the job done for them. A bowling display doesn’t deserve to be on on the losing side like like this tonight,” Markram added.
