CricketAakash Chopra Chopra Wants Harsha Bhogle To Coach A BBL Side

Ex team India cricketer and current commentator Aakash Chopra has raised a big concern over the involvement of foreign coaches in IPL. According to his logic, foreign coaches are welcomed and even priotized in IPL, WPL and other local leagues but we don’t see Indian coaches being invited or involved to leagues taking place in Australia, South Africa or England.

There are some quality Indian coaches in the T20 circuit…the same can be said about the analysts and commentators.

Chopra posted something on Twitter related to this matter it goes like this:

IPL is full of overseas coaches, commentators, pundits but there are no (read negligible) Indians in any of the overseas T20 leagues (BBL, WBBL, The Hundred, CPL etc.)

I wonder why? How come India is so welcoming and the same isn’t getting reciprocated elsewhere? Can Nehra not be a coach in BBL? Or Jhulan/Mithali in WBBL? Or Harsha/Ravi call the BBL?

Disclaimer: I DO NOT need a job outside of India lest it is seen as a personal wish.

This is this is a big concern from him but unfortunately leaves no good impression on cricket. By no means, it is an uniting thought if it does anything, it only divides the cricket fraternity and the chemistry of coaches member support staff commentators with each other.

It is quite evident that Aakash Chopra was trying to speak for the Indian coaches and commentators. In total favour of them, he wants them to dominate the Indian league if not foreign ones.

Currently in IPL 20-23 Sanjay Bangar is the head coach of RCB Chandrakant pandit is head coach of KKR Ashish Nehra head coach of Gujarat Titans, marked Boucher is coaching Mumbai Indians, PBKS is led by Trevor Bayliss in coaching department.

Brian Lara is looking over SRH, Delhi capitals are guided by the key Ponting and Sourav Ganguly. Kumar Sangakkara is coaching Rajasthan Royals and Stephen Fleming is coaching Chennai Super Kings. Finally Lucknow super giants is led by Gautam Gambhir in the coaching department.

That is 5 teams are led by Indian coaches which makes Aakash Chopra’s claim quite irrelevant to the cause. Also, Chopra has urged Harsha Bhogle to be given the role of coaching a side.

How can he! Harsha Bhogle is only a commentator not an ex cricketer so there are no possibilities that he can coach a side but only can give us insight on a game.

Reason behind the foreign coaches being involved in Indian leagues is that the language. Indian players are well versed in both English and Hindi language while foreign players not bilingual so that will make a coach’s job more challenging.

Talking about the whole thing, the involvement of foreign coaches only helps Indian players. Cricket is more than that, young players get to know the legends of the game and share the knowledge and their experiences with them.
