Mahendra Singh Dhoni has never disappointed his fans, and with every year passing, he is showing more and more great skills in his captaincy. On May 23 (Tuesday), he led his team, the Chennai Super Kings, to the IPL finals for the tenth time after defeating Gujarat Titans at Chepauk. Deepak Chahar and Ravindra Jadeja’s excellent bowling led the team to win by 15 runs over the defending champions GT.

CSK became the first to qualify for finals

After Chennai Super Kings became the first team to enter the grand finale of the IPL 2023, veteran and legendary cricketer AB de Villiers revealed the intimidating side of MSD and explained how difficult it is to beat CSK at their home. He also opened up about the teams getting intimidated by the presence of Dhoni and CSK at Chepauk.

ABD about Dhoni

The former RCB player told Jio Cinema”I feel there is an intimidating factor, whether it’s the ground or MSD himself , the opposition arrive in the stadium thinking that they have to play some exceptional cricket to beat Chennai. But when you look at the scoreboard, you can see that the loss is always by small margins. Most of the time it is 10 or 15 runs, MSD and his team tend to get it right, and when they play at home and in grand finals, You’ll see what they come up with.

Will this be MSD’s last IPL?

Dhoni is in speculation about bidding farewell to the Indian Premier League after the season ends. After defeating GT in Qualifiers, Harsha Bhogle asked Dhoni about his next year’s plans in the post-match ceremony, and Dhoni told him that he has at least seven to eight months to think about it as the auction will be around December. Dhoni did not clearly state his plans, but he said that he will think.

CSK can equal the record

If this is the last season for MSD, then we will definitely hope that he will win the fifth title of IPL along with his team and make the record equal with Mumbai Indians for winning most trophies in IPL history. Dhoni has been leading CSK since 2008, and his team also competed in the first edition’s final against Rajasthan Royals. Under Dhoni’s extraordinary captaincy, CSK have won four titles the last time CSK won an IPL title was in 2021. Till now, Dhoni has played over 248 matches in the Indian Premier League.
