Milan sat in the cold for about seven years longing to hear the UEFA Champions League anthem beats. However, the long wait lands in their doors, and sporting director Paolo Maldini cherishes the moments.

Speaking after the game, Maldini claims it is a well-deserved success to be back in European Night Football.

“I believe that no one can deny the fact that it’s a well-deserved success,” Maldini claimed. “The club was supportive, the coaches and the players did a fantastic job. The mentality of having no excuses created something out of the ordinary, it was our secret.”

Maldini reveals, “The truth is that Pioli has never been questioned. We must always remember where we started from, after the 5-0 defeat we suffered right. We were honest in saying things, we didn’t talk much but we always told the truth.”

Also, Juventus beat the odds and become the last-day winners as they wing their way back to the top four. The Bainconeri pulls the last Serie A performance to end the season with a flying 4-1 win over Bologna.

After such a fine performance, Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo claims he has always given everything.

“It was important to finish strongly by winning the Coppa Italia and getting the club into the Champions League, having started the job last summer. I’ve always given my all and these are the results,” Pirlo claimed.

We’re on the right track, but the desire to make sacrifices is what makes the difference. If you have that, results are easier to come by,” he added.

Meanwhile, Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis confirms that Gennaro Gattuso will leave the club. Gattuso departs after their fifth-place Serie A finish and a miss on European Football.

Confirming the news on Twitter, De Laurentiis wrote, “Dear Rino, I am happy to have spent almost two seasons with you. Thank you for your work and I wish you success wherever you go. A hug also to your wife and children.” Then followed by, “Thank you, boss!” alongside a picture of Gattuso.
