Fikayo Tomori

AC Milan is committed to keeping Fikayo Tomori on a permanent basis, but qualifying for the Champions League will help Serie A’s side afford a €30 million option to buy the defender from Chelsea.

Milan officials want to keep Fikayo Tomori

The 23-year-old also wants to stay in San Siro and has had a series of meetings with CTO Paolo Maldini and Sporting Director Frederic Massara. Milan officials have explained that they want to keep Fikayo, but the fees are expensive. After all, ideally they would ask for a discount from Chelsea, but this is not foreseen, leaving Milan in the hope of identifying in the Champions League at the end of the season.

The Rossoneri are currently in fifth place with just five games left to play in the season, but are on a point level with Juventus and Napoli, who are third and fourth respectively. Lazio and Atalanta also lag behind Inter leaders in the race for three to define the Champions League. Milan face Atalanta and Juve away from home in their final five matches.

Another player that is planned to be sold

Olivier Giroud is expected to leave on a free shuttle this summer after his role was cut during Thomas Tuchel’s early reign. West Ham and Leicester are also interested in Tammy Abraham, but the Blues are keen to hold out for a large fee rumored to be around £40 million. Watford are in talks to sign Ike Ugbo, s, Genk, Monaco and Fulham are also still on the hunt for a £5m academy graduate on loan at Cercle Brugge. PAOK is keen to keep Baba Rahman, but would rather have him renew his loan contract than buy it outright.

Napoli may qualify for the Champions League, but isn’t sure if signing Tiemoue Bakayoko is worth it, and Chelsea is asking for a £ 18m transfer fee. The deals come amid a push by Chelsea to cut the size of its credit pool this summer after FIFA introduced new rules limiting the number of players that are allowed to send in a single season. Marco van Ginkel, Michy Batshuayi, Davide Zappacosta, Matt Miazga, Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater, Kenedy and Victor Moses will be considered available for sale.
