Liverpool ‘had more chances’

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah had yet another stellar season, with the Egyptian scoring 31 goals across four competitions and helping Liverpool win the FA and Carabao Cups. The Reds also finished as runners-up in the Champions League and finished second in the Premier League behind Manchester City. But Salah, in an interview, shared his opinion that Liverpool were deserving of more in the Paris final and that Jurgen Klopp’s side deserved to be crowned European champions. “We deserved to win; we had more chances. I had two or three clear chances, but Thibaut Courtois made incredible saves. It’s his job; that’s what Real Madrid signed him for. It was his night,” he told reporters.

Salah is trying to meditate every day

Salah also discussed his approach to football, citing meditation as a critical tool to help him stay focused. “I try to meditate every day, 10 or 20 minutes, at home, alone,” said Salah, who has turned his home into something of a health centre. “It’s true that I like to say that my house looks like a hospital. My wife doesn’t like it. Two rooms in our house are dedicated to different fitness machines. At home, I can also do cryotherapy; there is a hyperbaric chamber. I am constantly looking to improve my physical condition. My wife says I spend more time with my machines than with her. If training is set for 15.00, I arrive two or three hours earlier and leave an hour and a half later.”

Salah also discussed his stringent diet, explaining how he strives to eat as well as possible despite his love of burgers. “I like broccoli, sweet potatoes, fish, chicken and always salad,” Salah said. “And when I do treat myself in a big restaurant in London, I prefer sushi. I eat pizza once a month at most. I love burgers, but I hardly ever eat them because I feel heavy afterwards.” The forward also explained why he sometimes takes his shirt off after scoring, stating that he feels good about his body, especially after all his hard work. “When you fight so hard to build a perfect body, you don’t have to be shy,” Salah said.
