The International League T20 in the UAE was lit up yesterday night with the first century of the league. Englishman Alex Hales scored league’s first century in 52 balls with completing his innings with 110 runs from 59 balls including 7 fours & 6 sixes, continuing his great form.

Alex Hales had a fantastic night on Friday while representing Desert Vipers against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. He has been in great from since making comeback for England team. Even this century came after he hit back to back half centuries in previous two matches.

Prior to leaving the Big Bash League for the International League T20 in Australia, the 34-year-old scored three half-centuries for Sydney Thunder and made a big contribution in their four match winning streak.

It all started with his inclusion in the England’s T20 world cup team after Jonny Bairstow was forced to withdraw due to an injury. In the Word Cup 2022, Alex Hales went on to hit more than 200 runs at an impressive average of 42 as his nation won the tournament.

The right-hander scored twice in the fifties during the competition, with his top score of 86 not out from 47 balls coming in England’s lopsided semi-final victory against India at Adelaide Oval by a margin of 10 wickets.

Hales is not a member of England’s 50-over team for the upcoming series in South Africa, but England white-ball head coach Matthew Mott warned that the Nottinghamshire player might be difficult to keep out of the lineup for the 50-over World Cup in India this fall shortly after his team’s T20 World Cup victory.

Before defending their 50-over World Cup title in October and November, Jos Buttler’s team plays just 13 one-day internationals, including three in Bangladesh in March, four against New Zealand, and three against Ireland in September.

James Vince took the place of Hales in the squad when it was discovered that Alex Hales had failed a recreational drug test prior to the 2019 50-over World Cup in England.

Hales holds the English ODI record with 2,419 runs in 67 innings at a just below 38 average, including six hundreds, 14 fifties, and a best score of 171. He could have the opportunity to add to those international 50-over figures if he keeps up his present pace.
