Alexandre Lacazette was forced with injury during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sunday.

His injury is a hamstring problem

The striker went down 70 minutes into the Premier League and had to be substituted when Fulham was 1-0 over a penalty from Josh Maja. Eddie Nketiah replaced the French international as he headed down the tunnel for treatment, and went to shoot the equalizer literally seconds before the final whistle.

The 29-year-old pulled himself up while holding the back of his leg after the Arsenal attack. The injury turned out to be a hamstring problem. Alexandre Lacazette is the Gunners’ top scorer this season, with 17 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions, while drawing 13 in the Premier League. Eddie Nketiah was happy to get up and make a difference for his side after leaving the bench, but wished his teammate well in his recovery from injury. He said that first, he wishes Laca a speedy recovery, he is important to the team and hopes to be back as soon as possible.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the striker suffered a hamstring injury and believes that the fact that he has now played three games in seven days’ space may have played a role. He said he felt a hamstring so we wouldn’t know. They have to rotate players, they have players who have not recovered from Thursday’s game. This is the risk. You cannot change these players every game.

The loss of the former Lyon star adds to Mikel’s injury fears as his side competes in the Europa League semi-finals and moves up the Premier League. Arsenal is already dispensing with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the striker contracted malaria. Meanwhile, defenders David Luiz and Kieran Tierney and midfielder Martin Odegaard were also injured.

What will happen next?

After a draw with Fulham, Arsenal turns their attention to Friday’s next Premier League match against Everton. They will then face Villarreal in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final six days later, followed by a trip to Newcastle on May 1st.
