The Chilean, Alexis Sanchez has unloaded on his former club Manchester United after securing a permanent move to Italy side, Serie A.

Alexis Sanchez has acknowledged at the very first training session with Manchester United, he wanted to leave the club and return to Arsenal.

The former Barcelona attacker left Arsenal and joined Manchester United in January 2018. In the club, he struggled to impress across two seasons before being sent to Inter Milan on loan last season.

Sanchez made 45 appearances for United scoring five times and contributing nine assists. These were statistics that pale in comparison to the 80 goals he struck across 166 games with Arsenal.

Across the 2019/20 season on loan at Serie A, Sanchez showed glimpses of his former self and secured a permanent move to Inter Milan this August.

Reflecting on his time at the Red Devils, the 31-year-old admitted he quickly knew he wasn’t going to enjoy his time with the club. As a result, he hit out at the squad’s lack of unity during his time there.

He said, “After the first training session, I realized many things. I came home and asked my family and my manager If I could break the contract and return to Arsenal. Something did not fit me. But I had already signed”. Said Sanchez.

“Months passed and I kept feeling the same. We were not united as a team at that time. The journalists also spoke without knowing and it hurt. Former players also spoke and had no idea what was happening inside the club. And they hurt me”.

“A player also depends on the internal environment. That we need to be a family. We weren’t like that and it was reflected on the field. If someone had to be blamed, they blamed me”.

“I do self-criticism and should have played better. But I was always blamed even if I played for a few minutes”.

Arsenal Legend Slams Alexis Sanchez as “greedy”

Former Arsenal midfielder, Ray Parlour has described Alexis Sanchez as “greedy” following his wish to quite United immediately after his arrival.

“You’ve got to give yourself a chance. It’s new surroundings and a different way of training than at Arsenal. And it shouldn’t come down to wages. But he was on £560,000 a week and he wants to leave straight away? You’ve got to work hard”. Said Parlour.

If you recall, there were plenty of speculations Sanchez would join Manchester City rather than United. However, the Chilean opted for the latter.

Arsenal legend Parlour proceeded, “If he really wanted to join Manchester City, why didn’t he cut his wages down and say, ‘I’ll sign for £250,000 a week?’ Surely, he can live on £250,000 a week”.

“He got £560,000 a week when he went to Manchester United. That’s scary. How can you say, as a player, when you turn up to a club you want to leave the next day? That’s not right. That mentality should not be in a footballer”.
