Liverpool has confirmed goalkeeper Alisson will miss the Merseyside derby against Everton with a hip injury. On the other side, captain, Henderson is said to be fit to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

The Reds will be without their first-choice goalkeeper, Alisson for the Merseyside derby on 16th March.  The Brazilian continues to suffer from a hip injury.

Alisson sat out in the home win over Bournemouth and the FA Cup defeat to Chelsea after picking up the hip injury. His absence is set to be extended for two more games.

The 27-year-old has missed the last two matches and has now been ruled out of Monday’s trip to Everton as well as Wednesday’s Champions League game with Atletico Madrid.

Stand in Adrian will continue in goal.

Alisson, who has played 28 times for Liverpool this season picked up the injury in training before the 2-0 FA Cup fifth-round defeat at Chelsea.

In other news, captain Jordan Henderson is fit to return for their Champions League last 16-second leg with Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

The midfielder has not played since he suffered a hamstring injury in the first-leg which Atletico won 1-0.

what’s the plan??

Liverpool lost to Atletico Madrid in the first league of their Champions League. In the last 16-second league, here’s what the coach has to say alongside Robertson.

“Not a lot of the Atletico players have played at Anfield before and that is what we want to use.” Said Klopp

“Our crowd will be our advantage and we have to use it with the performance on the pitch.”

“It has to be exceptional because they defend deep and have counter-threat. Each player can be dangerous.”

“I have the highest respect for them but there are always ways and we have to find them tomorrow night. We have to show we have really learned from the first game.”

Liverpool has lost three of its past five games in all competitions. However, Saturday’s 2-1 comeback win over Bournemouth has taken them to within two wins of the Premier League title.

City will play Arsenal in the league at the same time as Liverpool’s tie.

“Our full focus is on the game.” Added Andy Robertson.

“We cannot affect anything that’s going on over in Manchester tomorrow night.”

“If we win here, that’s all that matters. Of course, if we get one step closer if they do drop points then so be it. But one eye won’t be on that game, it’s a different competition. It’s the Champions League and we know it’s do or die.”
