Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri expressed his disappointment regarding Paul Pogba’s ongoing injury issues since rejoining the team.

Paul Pogba’s Injury Woes at Juventus

The French international made a remarkable return to the Turin-based club at the start of the season, but has been hampered by continuous injury problems. Paul Pogba initially needed knee surgery in September, and later experienced a thigh muscle issue during recovery. His most recent adductor problem in March has led to the midfielder missing an astonishing 47 matches in all competitions, with only 74 minutes of playtime this season.

Allegri Discusses Frustrations with Pogba’s Condition

Inquiring about the team’s injury updates before their Serie A match against Bologna, Allegri shared his frustrations with Pogba’s situation. He mentioned that Pogba has been inactive for a year and is not in optimal shape to participate in a game. Allegri added that he wishes to see Pogba return to his earlier form, but acknowledged that it takes time for a player to recover after a lengthy absence. He also emphasized the unique pressures and challenges of playing for Juventus.

Juventus’ Crucial Season Stage

As Allegri pointed out, Juventus is entering a critical part of their season. They hope to capitalize on the reinstatement of 15 league points, which were previously deducted due to financial irregularities. Although Allegri managed to keep the team competitive during that time, they have failed to win their last four matches in all competitions and are at risk of losing their Champions League spot.

Focusing on Top-Four Finish

Following their elimination from the Coppa Italia semi-finals by Inter, Juventus’ primary domestic objective is securing a top-four finish. After their away game against Bologna, Allegri will lead the team in a home match against Lecce on May 3.

Pogba’s Early Days at Manchester United

Paul Pogba initially joined Manchester United’s youth academy in 2009, where he showcased immense potential. Despite limited first-team opportunities, he managed to display flashes of brilliance during his time at Old Trafford. Pogba decided to leave the club in 2012, in search of more playing time and to further develop his skills.

A Star Rises at Juventus

After departing from Manchester United, Pogba signed with Italian giants Juventus. It was during his time at the Turin-based club that he blossomed into a world-class midfielder. From 2012 to 2016, Pogba played a crucial role in Juventus’ domestic and international successes. During his tenure, the club won four consecutive Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia trophies, and reached the UEFA Champions League final in the 2014-2015 season. Pogba’s remarkable performances earned him multiple individual awards, including the 2013 Golden Boy Award and three Serie A Team of the Year selections.

Return to Manchester United

In 2016, Pogba made a high-profile return to Manchester United, breaking the world transfer record at the time. The expectations were high, and Paul Pogba delivered some memorable performances in his second stint at Old Trafford. During the 2016-2017 season, he helped the team secure a UEFA Europa League title, an EFL Cup win, and a Community Shield triumph. He also played a pivotal role in Manchester United’s second-place finish in the Premier League during the 2017-2018 season. Pogba’s performances fluctuated at times, but he continued to contribute to the team’s successes.

World Cup Glory with France

Pogba’s crowning achievement came in 2018, when he played an instrumental role in France’s FIFA World Cup victory. He was a key figure in the midfield, providing stability, creativity, and scoring vital goals, including one in the final against Croatia. Pogba’s performances during the tournament solidified his status as one of the world’s best midfielders.

Injury Struggles and a Return to Juventus

Unfortunately, injuries marred the latter part of Pogba’s time at Manchester United. Recurring issues limited his appearances and impacted his form. Despite the setbacks, Pogba remained a crucial player for the team when available. In 2022, Paul Pogba made a sensational return to Juventus, rejoining his former club in the hope of rediscovering his best form and overcoming injury troubles.
