Álvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata is eager to re-integrate into Argentinean Diego Simeone and help them compete for major awards.

What did Alvaro Morata say?

The Spanish player has confirmed he will stay at Atletico Madrid for the duration of the 2022-23 season after the end of the bianconeri loan spell. The Spaniard spent his last two seasons in Turin, initially returning to Juventus for a second spell in September 2020. Alvaro Morata scored 20 goals in Serie A during this time, but Juventus decided not to buy him directly and now the player finds himself in the Wanda Metropolitano.

Alvaro has been heavily linked with a permanent summer transfer in recent weeks amid reported interest from fellow Gunners, but he still has two years left to run on his Atlético contract.

Alvaro Morata has no plans to go anywhere and is excited about his fresh start in Madrid as he told the League club’s official website that he is very motivated and can’t wait to start training. He is sure it will be a great year. According to Morata, he was lucky that he had already worked with Diego and his team, and this will make things easier. The Spaniard says he can’t wait to start preparing for this season together.

“To fight for everything”

Atlético failed to defend the League title last season as they slipped to third in the standings, 15 points behind eventual winners Real Madrid. Diego’s side also failed to live up to expectations in the Champions League and Copa del Rey, but the Spaniard believes the current squad has enough quality to challenge for every major trophy on offer next season.

The Spanish international added that they are a super-complete squad that can aim to win everything, as they did two seasons ago when they won the league title in a league as difficult as Spain’s. According to Alvaro Morata, they have to work very hard this pre-season to be in the best physical condition to fight for everything.
