Vinicius is a key player for Real Madrid, and he has earned a lot of attention due to his playing skills. Unfortunately, that attention comes at a price, as he has been a target for insults and, in worse cases, racial slurs.
Vini has been bullied by Osasuna fan
Vinicius Jr. played well against Osasuna; however, that did not stop an angry fan from yelling in a moment of silence when they were paying their respects to Turkish and Syrian victims; there was an ominous sound as the stadium was in complete silence, only for the silence to be interrupted by a disrespectful fan yelling “Vinicius, you son of a b**ch!” Vinicius is a key player of Real Madrid, and he has earned a lot of attention due to his playing skills. Unfortunately, that attention comes at a price, as he has been a target for insults and, in worse cases, racial slurs. Before kickoff, when the players embraced in the centre circle to observe a minute’s silence out of respect for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, a fan in the stands shouted at him, “Vinicius, you son of a b**ch.”
Vini threatened to headbutt Gomez
The insult provoked laughter among some fans but was also repudiated by other home team supporters. Until then, Vini had only ever given his training jersey to a child in the stands. However, the screams against him continued, and every time he touched the ball, the fans booed him loudly before halftime; he had an altercation with Moi Gomez at the end of the first half. After a yellow card to Moncayola for a foul on the Brazilian, Vini and Gomez confronted each other and started shouting furiously at each other just a few centimetres away. While in the stands of El Sadar, there were 5 minutes of continuous whistles for the Vini. Both players faced each other, insulted each other, and Vini threatened to headbutt his rival. Both were cautioned.
During another play, Vini claimed a foul by Moi Gómez on the wing, but the referee did not sanction it. Vini then went berserk and shouted loudly at referee Munuera Montero: “Go f**k yourself, you son of a b***h”. The TV transmission captured the moment when Vinicius insulted the referee, but the referee did not acknowledge the insult, and the match continued.
Netflix project about LaLiga teams
Netflix and La Liga have just released their teaser for the upcoming docuseries about Spanish football teams. The teaser began dramatically, “When the game ends, the story begins“, to create the first sports documentary series for a league based in Spain. The project, which will follow the 2023-24 soccer season in Spanish, will show some interesting situations about the lives of players and managers involved in one of the world’s most essential and acclaimed soccer competitions. The format will be similar to the one Netflix already created with Formula 1, called ‘Drive to Survive’, which has been a great success for the platform, as it offers new types of content to motorsport fans and has sparked interest in those who are just getting into the world of racing.
The series La Liga is in pre-production and will narrate the most important events of the upcoming season in Spanish soccer, in addition to giving a more detailed follow-up to the great figures that play in Spain. “It will have exclusive access to the competition and will also look for those more personal stories of one of the most followed leagues in the world,” Netflix said in a statement.
