Liverpool defender Andy Robertson named Brazilian player Alisson Becker the best goalkeeper in the world after the match against the Citizens.

What did Robertson say about Alisson Becker?

Brazil national team goalkeeper Alisson Becker made a key contribution at both ends to Liverpool’s 1-0 win at Anfield on Sunday. Twice Becker deflected Haaland as he secured only his fourth clean sheet of the season. And the goalkeeper chained off a fine performance in style, assisting Salah’s winning goal with a fast and accurate shot that the Egyptian was able to control in sublime fashion before scoring at the kop End.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, the Scottish left-back said he thinks Alisson Becker is the best in the world for sure at what he does. According to Andy Robertson, they all probably let him down this season in that he faced too many shots, he had to make too many saves, and Andy thinks he will be a lot happier tonight.

On the winning goal, Andy added that Alisson Becker is incredible on the ball and they have to trust him in those moments. Becker came in from their corner or a free kick or whatever and Alisson got it in his hands and they trust him to make the right decisions. They had a similar goal against the Red Devils a couple of seasons ago where Salah does the same thing. Robertson says he’s capitalizing on a mistake, someone took a bad touch and then Mohamed is clear on goal and his composure was great.

A little about the topic

The Reds win is one of Klopp’s hopes to rekindle his season. He moves them back within 10 points of Manchester City and 14 Premier League leaders the Gunners – and they could close that gap further by beating the Hammers at Anfield on Wednesday night. More importantly, the result came from a performance that had all the hallmarks of the side we were used to under Jurgen Klopp; aggression, organization, intensity and quality.
