Ansu Fati is aware that he must improve his performance to get more minutes, and in case he wants to leave, the player must be the one to make that clear.

Barca will not put Fati on the market

The academy player needs to perform at the level he showed before his first knee injury, and that is causing him to have little prominence this season under Xavi, and his future is under the spotlight. Ansu is aware that he must improve his performance to get more minutes, and in case he wants to leave, the player must be the one to make that clear. The club will not put him on the market. So, everything is in his hands. “We have to be patient. Ansu is a spectacular asset to the club. We have a lot of confidence in him; he is working very well. I am thrilled with his tremendous mentality,” Xavi assured ahead of the win over Sevilla.

The player did not score

“Patience. He is 20 years old, and he needs time, like everyone else. Things will work out for him, now is not the time to talk about selling him.” In any case, it is clear that the player needs to find the old version of himself again. In the last few games, he had taken more of a leading role following the suspension of Robert Lewandowski, but his numbers were not very positive. He did not score. Ousmane Dembele and Pedri had to take over the goalscoring duties. Once the no.9 was back, Ansu only played 10 minutes against Real Betis and the same amount of time against Sevilla. In fact, his last goal in La Liga was against Villarreal, the Catalans’ next opponents, and dates back to October 20. Curiously, he has scored the most goals in his career against them – four.

So, on Sunday, he could have a golden opportunity to rediscover his scoring touch and rediscover those good feelings. This season, he has taken part in a total of 31 games but has only started nine of them and completed two. Xavi is giving him minutes, but he still needs to find a way back to his best. So, his future is wide open. Barcelona have no interest in putting him on the market, but neither do they rule out the possibility of him leaving if he receives a good offer that convinces all parties. Ansu would like to have more minutes, but right now, the competition is fierce, and the player has yet to find form. He still has four months left to make an impact.

Messi’s brother, Matias, apologized for his harsh remarks against Laporta and Barca

Matias Messi, Lionel Messi’s brother, took to Instagram to apologize for his harsh remarks against Joan Laporta, Barcelona, its fans, and Catalans in a video posted on his son’s Twitch channel. In the video, Matias stated his brother would only go back to his former club if Joan Laporta, the current president of the Catalan club, was ousted. “We are not going back to Barcelona,” Matias stated. “And if we do, we’ll do a good clear out. Among them, kick out Joan Laporta, ungrateful with all that Messi gave to Barcelona.” Lionel Messi’s current club, Paris Saint-Germain, and the player’s entourage disassociated themselves from those comments, stating they were Matias’ personal opinions. Matias Messi also singled out the fans, calling them traitors.

“People did not help him; they should have gone out to make a march or something, that Laporta goes and Messi stays.” Matias continued. “The Catalans are traitors. My mom told Lionel once they will treat you like Ronaldinho”. In his apology, Messi explained that he regretted his actions and cited how the club has helped both him and his family. “I want to vindicate myself for what I said; I was just with my son and friends making a joke,” Messi stated.

“How can I think that of a club as great as Barcelona and its history, the one that has given us so much to both my family and Leo? For us, Catalonia is our second home, and that is public knowledge. I am very sorry, and I apologize to everyone, especially to the Barcelona fans. Finally, I want to say that I only have the social network Instagram!”
