Man Utd’s loanee Frenchman has revealed he has turned down Juve and Barcelona in favor of signing Sevilla in the winter transfer window. Anthony spent the last seven years of his career at Old Trafford, but Rangnick revealed the striker was looking to move on to a new challenge amid a shortage of regular minutes in the first half of the 2021-22 campaign. Man Utd agreed a short-term loan deal with Sevilla for Anthony in January 2022, with the Frenchman choosing Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium despite interest from rivals Juventus and Barça.

Anthony confirmed that officials from Camp Nou and the Allianz Stadium have been in contact with his representatives, but Sevilla has always been his first choice. Anthony Martial said it was true. Anthony Martial also admitted to accepting a discount to join the Andalucian club before the end of the season, as he stressed the importance of being guaranteed a prominent role on the pitch. Martial added that both Sevilla and he made efforts so that he could come. Anthony has a lower salary, but he also knows that paying a salary is an effort for the club. So they both put in the effort. But Martial knows these efforts will benefit both parties.

According to Anthony Martial, it was the right decision for him, because he knew what he was going to play, and for him the game was the most important thing. Other big clubs tried to convince him but Martial chose to come to Sevilla because he knew that Sevilla was a very good club. Martial thinks it was the right decision for him.
