French football player Anthony Martial told the manager that he wants to leave in the January transfer window and ends closer to moving to Spain.
A little about Anthony Martial
Sevilla are growing confident they can secure a deal for the Red Devils forward before the transfer window closes. Anthony Martial made his first appearance under Rangnick in a 1-0 win against West Ham over the weekend, but is still looking to secure his way out of the club in the final week of the window. The Spanish side received an initial investigation earlier this month because they fell well below what the United States asked for, but it is understood that there is hope that an agreement can be reached before January 31st.
The French international told the manager back in December that he wanted to leave the club in the current transfer window due to limited options. Ralf Rangnick claimed the striker withdrew from an away league game against Aston Villa, which Anthony denied, and the pair have since gotten over the misunderstanding. However, Martial is still aiming to achieve a transfer this month.
Sevilla is confident of a deal after talks with his agent went well over the weekend. Sevilla originally offered to pay only half of Anthony’s wages, believed to be in the region of £250,000 a week, but the forward is believed to have negotiated a pay cut to strength through a step. However, the deal is yet to be finalized and initially Man Utd was asking for a fee of £5 million on the loan as well as covering all of his wages. It is clear that negotiations are ongoing.
What did Rangnick say about Anthony Martial?
The German manager was asked about Anthony after defeating West Ham at the weekend, where he said he was pleased with his participation Ralf Rangnick said that since when they last spoke a week and a half ago, he told him that it was about professional activity until the very last day, no matter how long he stays or when he leaves, it’s about professional activity, it was good talk to him. According to Rangnick, in the last two games Anthony Martial was in the squad and played a vital role in the goal they scored.
Anthony Martial is the best player, one of the best strikers in the Premier League but they have other players in his position and that’s his desire to leave but as Ralf told him it always takes different sides to find an agreement and how he was training and playing when he came in today showed the professionalism that Ralf expects from everyone. Ralf Rangnick is happy that Anthony played today, it happened and was vital to the goal.
