Arsenal expects the 28-year-old to return to training within three weeks, while Ghana’s international midfielder is currently nursing an ankle injury.

What situation?

Partey was laid low during the preseason run against Chelsea and will miss the start of the 2021-22 campaign. Thomas Partey, however, will not be sidelined for too long as a welcome stimulus for Arteta, and should return to the controversy after the first international hiatus. Arsenal said about Thomas Partey in a fitness update on the club’s official website that Thomas Partey suffered a ligament injury in his right ankle during a friendly against Chelsea last Sunday. Partey continues to be evaluated and is expected to return to training in about three weeks.

Arsenal have a friendly derby date with local rivals Tottenham to be hosted on Sunday. They will then be drawn into the Premier League curtain against Brentford next Friday. A test start to the season then takes a home date with Chelsea on August 22 and a trip to Man City six days later. The inner action then ceases, giving Thomas Partey a chance to work on his fitness before the Gunners face Norwich on September 11th.

Who else got injured?

Arteta is in the process of finalizing his plans for the new season, but he does not have the full roster at his disposal. Gabriel Magalhaes and Eddie Nketiah sit next to Partey in the treatment room with England’s U21 international striker and Brazilian center midfielder also weeks away from coming back to action. Arsenal said in a statement about Eddie that Eddie Nketiah suffered a bruised right ankle during a friendly against Chelsea last Sunday.

Eddie Nketiah continues to be evaluated and is expected to return to training in about four weeks. They added to the South American defender that Gabriel Magalhaes suffered a right knee injury while the Brazilian Olympic squad was. Magalhaes is currently undergoing an assessment and is looking to return to training in the coming weeks.
