Arsenal have completed the £ 30m Odegaard from Real Madrid, and the former credit star has returned to Emirates Stadium on a permanent basis.

Martin Odegaard caught my eye

The Gunners took the talented Norway international on a short-term deal during the 2021 winter transfer window as they sought to bring added creativity to their ranks. Martin caught the eye during his short stay in England and, having failed to force his way into Ancelotti’s plans at Santiago Bernabeu, is now ready to take on commitments in the Premier League of the Heavyweights.

Martin Odegaard made them better

Announcing the deal on the club’s official website, Arsenal said of Martin Odegaard that the 22-year-old is rejoining after spending the second half of last season on loan with them, during which time he made 20 appearances, including scoring in their Premier League victory over Tottenham at Emirates Stadium in March. The Norwegian international began his career in Norway with Stromsgodset, where he debuted as a 15-year-old in April 2014, becoming the youngest player ever to have played in the Norwegian top division. Martin was signed by Real Madrid in January 2015 and subsequently became their youngest player in May 2015.

In three seasons from 2017-18, Martin Odegaard spent periods on loan with Vitesse Arnhem and Heerenveen in the Netherlands, and then again in Spain with Real Sociedad in 2019-20, where he helped the club advance to the Cup del Rey final. The attacking midfielder also played 30 caps for Norway, making his debut in August 2014, becoming the youngest player to represent his country’s senior team at just 15 years and 253 days.

When asked what Martin Odegaard will bring to the squad, Mikel Arteta said that he brought a lot last season. Martin Odegaard made them better, they needed more options, alternatives, creativity and players that could be more morals for this football club. Odegaard is still a really young man, but he already has a lot of experience in different clubs. Martin has a unique talent based on how they want to play, so Mikel is glad the club put in the effort and they have Martin Odegaard on a permanent deal here.
