Arsenal is under pressure to add a release option in the new deal they want to provide Bukayo Saka, with official discussions expected to begin at the end of the season.

The 20-year-old England attacker has two years left on his contract, with Arsenal having the option of adding a year to the three-year contract he signed in 2020. However,  the club wants to keep him for much longer.

Saka enjoys his time at Arsenal and gets along well with manager Mikel Arteta. But the lad wants to play in the Champions League and may be hesitant to commit without a plan B.

Arsenal, like most of the top English teams, does not normally include release clauses in their players’ contracts. This is to guarantee they only sell when they are in a strong position. But this time round, they may be compelled to do so for Saka.

Saka has featured 37 times for the north London outfit in the Premier League this season. Additionally, he has directly contributed toward 17 goals. His impressive displays have steered Arsenal within touching distance of Champions League qualification. Therefore, he has attracted the interest from several top-flight sides in Europe.

Reports courted the interest of Juventus and Atletico Madrid. At the time, the report claimed that Arsenal would not be prepared to sell the England international for anything less £43million.

However, following an imperious campaign in north London for Arteta’s side, the forward has seen his market valued skyrocket to around £101million
