Join us as we address the injury news and potential return dates for star players as Arsenal prepares for Mikel Arteta’s arrival and a trip to face Everton at Goodison Park.

The busy Christmas period is nearly underway. Arsenal could go into it with a new man at the helm. Do you know who it is? Mikel Arteta.

The former midfielder has agreed to replace Emery and leave his role as an assistant manager in City.

City faced Arsenal in the Premier League game. The club fell to a 3-0 defeat to the team in the third-place thanks to De Bruyne and a goal from Raheem Sterling.

The results left Arsenal in 10th place. Seven points adrift of fourth.

Thereafter, Arsenal will face Everton on Saturday. The Toffees have confirmed that Ferguson will take charge of the match as Carlo Ancelotti looks to head up to Liverpool.

Whether under Arteta or Ljungberg, Arsenal is aware that three points could be the kick start to their season.

Injury news and the return dates.

Hector Bellerin

Bellerin was originally named in the starting line-up for the game against West Ham. He couldn’t feature in the match as he picked up a hamstring complaint in the warm-up at London Stadium.

Speaking after the game, Ljungberg offered an update on the full-back.

“Hector had a feeling in his hamstring during the warm-up and we tool the decision.”

“Not going to force anyone to play if they don’t feel 100%. It was a straight swap on that with Ainsley.”

Bellerin missed the Europa League trip to Standard Liege and also sat out the Premier League match against City.

It is hoped that the full-back will return to training this week to be fit for the trip to Everton.

Kieran Tierney

Tierney started the game against West Ham but had to be withdrawn after 29 minutes.

The Scottish left-back landed awkwardly in his own box and picked up a shoulder injury.

The injury has since been confirmed as a dislocated shoulder. This means Tierney will be out for the rest of the year. He is unlikely to return until March 2020 at the earliest.

Dani Ceballos

The midfielder was substituted early in the second half of the Europa League clash against Vitoria in October.

He pulled up with a hamstring problem while closing down an opponent.  Arsenal provided an update stating he is working hard to be back in action as soon as possible. He is targeting a return o training ahead of the Boxing Day clash against Bournemouth.

Rob Holding

The center-back was left out of the squad for the West Ham game. The club had confirmed before that Holding had bruising on his left knee.

Holding was assessed again before the Spaniard Liege clash. But ultimately, he didn’t make the trip and missed the game against Manchester City.

It is hoped that the defender will return to training “in the next two weeks.”

Sead Kolasinac

Kolasinac limped off in the first half of the match against City with a suspected ankle problem.

Although there is yet to be an official update on the left back’s condition, should the defender be unavailable, it could be the Gunners facing a full-back injury crisis.
