Aston Villa officially unveiled Emi Buendia as their club record of £ 35m after beating Arsenal star the Norwich City.

Villa announced that they reached an agreement to sign Emi Buendia on Monday, and the move has now been formally taken following the winger’s successful medical examination on Thursday. Emi, who has been closely associated with Arsenal throughout the 2020-21 campaign, has signed a five-year contract with Villa Park and will join his new teammates for the start of the preseason. Boss Villa Dean Smith expressed his delight after Emi’s arrival, informing the club’s official website that Emiliano had just finished an outstanding season on the championship-winning Norwich side with 31 combined puck and assists and was named player of the season across the league and that he is equally capable as a wide striker or as a number 10 and is a great addition to their attacking options and they are delighted to have made such an exciting signing so early in the summer and are looking forward to Emi Buendia joining them for the full preseason.

 

A little about Emi Buendia

Emi Buendia joined Carrow Road from the Getafe La Liga outfit in the summer of 2018 and was instrumental in helping Norwich return to the Premier League as Championship winners in his first full season at the club. The 24-year-old was powerless to prevent the Canaries from relegation next year, but still managed to stand out against the struggling side of Daniel Farke, delivering a goal and seven assists in 36 appearances. Norwich shook off the frustrations of his failed top-flight campaign to bounce right back last season, regaining the second tier title, with Emi reaching greater heights than ever before.
