Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has written a poignant tribute to Barcelona where he stayed for 6 months before signing for Chelsea

Aubameyang joined Chelsea late on deadline day for £10 million, returning to London after leaving Arsenal in the winter in a deal that also included Marcos Alonso.

On his Twitter account, the 33-year-old stated that he has been with the club for ‘what seemed like six years’ before wishing them the best in the future.

‘Culers, six months with you felt like six years,’ he said.

‘All of your heart is indescribable, and especially these days, I wish you the best and hope to see you soon.’

‘Thank you very much, family.’

Aubameyang left Arsenal for Barcelona on a free transfer earlier this year after clashing with manager Mikel Arteta over disciplinary issues.

He scored 13 goals in 24 appearances for the club, although he was anticipated to fall down the pecking order at the Nou Camp with the additions of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha in the summer.

Chelsea were looking for a forward and struck a deal late into the night, with the Catalan club glad to acquire left-back Alonso in exchange, who they had been after all summer.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who worked with Aubameyang at Borussia Dortmund, has stated that he is unconcerned about the forward’s demeanor, while Aubameyang has stated that he will ignore Chelsea’s number nine curse.
