The West Indies series is just around the corner, and the 26-year-old hopes that selectors call him back. He last appeared for the Indian cricket team in October 2022, when he played against South Africa. Avesh was touted as the pacer for the shortest form of the game, but Selectores soon moved on. He was not selected for the T20 World Cup squad, and later he started playing domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh, where he took 38 wickets in eight matches. His team lost the match in the semi-finals, but he was happy with the way his red-ball performance turned out.

The pacer admitted that his IPL season didn’t go as expected because his previous season’s performance was better than this one. Avesh said that even though this season was not much good for him, he still maintained his economy rate under 10. The seamer also revealed that LSG’s coach Andy Flower and bowling coach Morne Morkel gave him advice on how to set up the batsman. Even though he had stitches, the seamer bowled in the initial games of the IPL.
Avesh also stated that playing for the Indian team one day and then being asked to play domestic cricket takes a lot of mental stress, as he bowled 240 overs in the last domestic season for Madhya Pradesh, and there were cases when his body needed rest, but he carried on and with each game became an important player for his team.
