Red devils player Axel Tuanzebe’s agent claims that Gerrard’s arrival at Aston Villa caused his client to cut a spell of credit with the Birmingham club.

What did Axel Tuanzebe’s agent say?

Axel returned to Old Trafford in early January and has already secured another short-term move. Axel Tuanzebe will line up in Napoli for the rest of the season and is hoping to find more playing time than under the ex-Liverpool legend.

Player’s brother and agent Dimitri Tuanzebe said that Tuanzebe is very excited to start a new chapter in his football career, playing abroad and for a club with such a long history behind him and fans who worship football. Tuanzebe was hesitant to move until it became clear that he was not the center-back of the manager’s first choice and Napoli’s offer was very tempting.

Dimitri has a lot of mixed emotions when it comes to Tuanzebe’s time at the Villa. He is loved by the fans as he has greatly contributed to the club’s success in the Championship, where he was one of the key players that helped Ville return to the Premier League. However, after Gerrard’s arrival at Villa Park, it felt as if the rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool had come to life.

According to Dimitri Tuanzebe for the avoidance of doubt, Tuanzebe was very open to being at the Villa, he loves the fans while in Birmingham, but Axel Tuanzebe also has a career that he can only build and realize his full potential in an environment where opportunities to play are fair.

A little about the topic

Axel is a graduate of the Red Devils Youth Academy, joining Man Utd for the first time at the age of eight. Axel Tuanzebe made his first bow with the squad in January 2017 but was unable to qualify for a regular spot with Man Utd, amassing just 37 appearances with the club in the five years since his debut.

The former England Under-21 Youth International experienced better fortunes on a previous loan spell at Villa in 2018-19, which ended with a promotion back to the Premier League for Villans. His final term fell short of this success, and although he started the season as the first regular team, Axel was limited to just eight minutes of action following Steven Gerrard’s November appointment.
