In the 15th match of PSL 8, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi were face to face in a high scoring encounter. Lahore Qalandars lost the match by 40 runs while chasing the formidable target of 242 runs. It was best vs best, Babar Azam vs Shaheen Shah Afridi. Both are captains of their side and it was one of the most awaited battle of PSL.

Shaheen Shah Afridi is captaining Lahore Qalandars and has been successful leader for the side. On the other hand, Babar Azam was trying to lead his team in a winning position after they lost previous match. However, destiny has other plans as batsmen of Lahore Qalandars piled up 241 runs on board.

When Peshawar Zalmi came to chase, it never seemed possible that they will chase it but it was about going as close as possible to the posted score. But facing Shaheen is a thing which even the best in the business avoid in early overs. Chasing 241, both Zalmi openers tried to go hard from the beginning but found no luck.

First Shaheen dismissed Mohammad Haris with a top notch inswinging delivery that rattled middle stumps. The next prey was Babar Azam, one of the best in the business, got rattled in a similar fashion. Inswinging full length delivery which has caused problems to many world class batters, now Babar is added to the list. He has got Babar two times in the PSL now.

It was a fantastic night for Lahore Qalandars fans who throughly enjoyed the night of six hitting. Fakhar Zaman scored 96 off 45 balls with 10 massive sixes before Sam Billings played the role of enforcer with 23 balls 47. Shaheen Shah Afridi got 5 wickets for 40 runs.

Lahore Qalandars are at 3rd position in the PSL points table while Peshawar Zalmi has suffered back to back losses and are currently stated at fifth position in the table.
