New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is having a nightmare because of an ugly injury he sustained in the first match of the IPL 2023. Last weekend while playing for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League, Kane Williamson suffered an ACL tear in his right knee.
Thus, it is quite likely that the Black Caps’ white-ball skipper won’t participate in the one-day international Cricket World Cup that will be held in India in October and November.
Knowing that, Babar Azam posted a sweet message on twitter that says:
Bounce back stronger. Get well soon Kane Williamson
Around a year ago or so when Virat Kohli was having some rough patches in his career, Babar posted a similiar kind of message for the Indian superstar.
Babar Azam and Kane Williamson, both are known for their humble nature and batting prowess. It also speaks of how good a sport cricket is where we players backing each other in tough times despite their nationality differences.
New Zealand will travel Pakistan for five match ODI series and five match T20Is. The series will start from next week, and Pakistan will be lead by Babar Azam in all 10 matches.
New Zealand white ball captain Kane Williamson opted out from the series due to his commitments for IPL franchise Gujarat Titans.
