Bangladesh Heading For Defeat, West Indies To Win Second Consecutive Test Series
Bangladesh struggled for partnerships in the final session of the day. The batsmen failed to put up much resistance in the second innings and by the end of the third day’s play, Bangladesh had lost 6 wickets for 132 runs and the team was still 42 runs behind the West Indies score. Nurul Hasan on 18 runs and new batsman Mehdi Hasan Miraj has not been able to open his account yet, both are at the crease.
Anmul Haque was the last wicket to fall before the rain, the second session ended early as Bangladesh posted 32 for 3 in 8.5 overs. Coming back after the rain, Liton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto were initially looking good. Litton looked particularly at ease.
The Windies pacer was able to bowl with patience and this time hit full length with the new ball. Seals found a length to seam and Liton was late to bring down his bat. The umpire gave not out but the Windies reviewed and overturned the decision and the right-hander scored 19 off 32 balls.

Shanto had shown determination and application during his challenging times at the crease. He played K Zhau’s innings and eventually fell victim to Alzarri Joseph after scoring 42 runs. He hit two fours off Kyle Meyers after the wicket of Liton. Meanwhile, the ball was changed and the Windies bowlers, especially Seals, made it swing a lot and Shanto along with Shakib stopped it.
Overall, Shanto showed better application trying to play straighter, but then after playing more than 90 deliveries, he played a shot outside his off-stump, making 42 off 91 balls against Alzarri Joseph through the wicketkeeper. Got out.
Captain Shakib Al Hasan, another senior batsman, was caught at slip on a delivery from Joseph with no foot anywhere near the ball. His 16 off 32 balls was filled with some poor decision calls before Alzarri finally got his wicket. Thus, with another possible hour of play, would see the Windies finish their second match on the fourth day.
