Bangladesh sealed a comprehensive victory over Afghanistan in the second ODI. 

Bangladesh has posted a mammoth total of 306 runs in 50 overs. In response to chasing that total, Afghanistan lost early wickets and failed to recover completely. 

Batting first, Bangladesh has scored above par total against Afghanistan in the second ODI. In the first ODI, Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan after being 45/6 then surprisingly chasing the target of 215 runs.

A wonderful performance by Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim has made it tough for the visitors to find victory. Bangladesh got a stable start due to the sensible innings by Liton Das.

He scored 136 off 126 balls and later was joined by Mushfiqur Rahim who scored 83 off 96 balls. Both of them together established a partnership of 202 runs in a total of 31 overs. 

However, Bangladesh could have finished a lot better if they accelerated well in the last 5 to 7 overs. They had wickets in hand but only managed to score 34 runs in the last 5 overs. 

Afghanistan bowled without plan or consistency. They missed their chances at crucial instances. On the other hand, Bangladeshi bowlers were spot on with their executions with accuracy.

Afghanistan was bowling an advancing side and their spin bowlers bowled for 25 overs. However, they failed to pick key wickets. They created chances but failed to take hold of it.

Failed run out chances, missed stumpings and dropped catches: it was a frustrating day for Afghanistan. 

For Afghanistan, Fareed Ahmad took two wickets but gave too many runs (56). Young spinner Mujeeb leaked 49 runs in 10 runs and remained wicketless.

Fazalhaq Farooqi bagged one wicket and gave 59 runs in 10 overs. Nabi and Rehmat were not economical and failed to perform positively. 

Afghanistan’s batting line-up collapsed quickly. Their batsmen failed to build effective partnerships. 

Najibullah Zadran and Rahmat Shah did build an 89 runs partnership but as soon as they got out, the whole team collapsed 218 runs. Bangladesh captain used 7 bowlers and luckily, they all bagged a wicket or two to clinch a comprehensive victory over Afghanistan.
