Jamal Musiala Bayern’s youngest goalscorer in the Bundesliga

Bayern Munich teenager Jamal Musiala miraculously became the club’s youngest goalscorer in the Bundesliga, with his late goal in an 8-0 thumping against Schalke on Friday. The attacking midfielder – aged 17 and 205 days.He broke the record held by Roque Santa Cruz in the 81st minute, scoring his first professional goal since coming on as a substitute. Jamal received the ball on the left wing before cutting inward on his right foot, driving into the penalty area, and delivering a low kick to the near post. The German-born England U-21 spent eight years at the Chelsea academy before moving on to Bayern’s youth setup in 2019. In June, he made his professional and Bundesliga debut for the Bavarians against Freiburg. He becomes the club’s youngest player in the German top division.

Hansi Flick’s men showed no signs of tiredness

Bayern started their defense off their Bundesliga title in ominous fashion with a hat-trick from Serge Gnabry. He helped them secure a stunning eight-goal win. Just 26 days after winning the Champions League, Hansi Flick’s side showed no signs of tiredness. And powered the lead in the fourth minute thanks to Gnabry’s superb attack. That was added to by Leon Goretzka after 19 minutes before Robert Lewandowski swept home the third goal from the penalty spot shortly after the half-hour mark. Gnabry finished his hat-trick with two goals inside the starting 15 minutes of the second half to Thomas Müller. Leroy Sane – making his debut on July transfer from Manchester City – and Musiala finished humiliating Schalke. Several other milestones were achieved during thrashing with veteran Thomas Müller.

He scored his 200th competitive goal for the club. With only three players earning more since Bayern were promoted to the top division in 1965. Star striker Robert Lewandowski scored his 163rd Bundesliga goal for the club. He overtook Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, with only Gerd Müller recording more (365). Flying winger Serge Gnabry hit the earliest goal in the Bundesliga in 18 years. With that fourth-minute goal equaling Torsten Frings’s strike in 2002. Bayern’s next reception will take place in the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla on Thursday, before continuing their Bundesliga campaign against Hoffenheim.
