Bayern Munich expected to make a revised offer of around £95million for Harry Kane as the transfer saga draws to a conclusion this week.
Talks were continuing last night and the Bundesliga champions have been informed that the Tottenham captain, Harry Kane who could leave on a free transfer next summer, is reluctant to move once the new Premier League season has started – emphasizing the need to find agreement before the end of the week.
Bayern’s last bid, of around £86m plus add-ons, was rejected on Monday by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy. However, talks have been ongoing since and the new bid is expected to be made over the next 24 hours.
Last month,Daniel Levy was seeking around £120m for Kane – despite him only having a year left on his deal – but he could accept a fee close to £100m to avoid losing Kane for free next summer.
Now only a little way short of that valuation, the bid could test Levy’s determination to keep the club’s all-time record goalscorer.
It could also challenge Kane’s desire to seek pastures new despite reportedly enjoying life under new boss Ange Postecoglou.
Kane scored four times in Tottenham’s 5-1 friendly win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday, having played a full part in their pre-season preparations.
Spurs fans serenaded the forward with chants of ‘we want you to stay’ as Postecoglou’s side turned in an impressive performance ahead of the new season.
Bayern may yet decide to allocate more money to their Kane package after being informed by Kyle Walker on Tuesday that he will stay with Manchester City.
Bayern had set aside around £15m for the England full-back who is ready to commit to a new one year contract at City.
