Adelaide Strikers are sitting at number four position on the BBL 2021-22 points table with 5 wins in 13 matches. For the Strikers, this will be a must-win game for them to keep their playoffs hopes alive. Adelaide Strikers played their last game against Melbourne Stars, which they won by 23 runs.

Adelaide Strikers batted first in that game and scored 155 runs in the first innings. Wells was the standout batsmen for them he scored 73 runs off 49 deliveries, including 6 fours and 1 six. Short too gave a great start with a 33-run knock off 22 balls. A combined bowling effort from the team helped them restrict Melbourne Stars to just 132 runs. Henry Thornton was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed 4 wickets for just 26 runs in his 4overs. The Rest of the bowlers picked one wicket each.

Sydney Sixers have two games left to play

On the other hand, Sydney Sixers, too, are coming off a morale-boosting win against Sydney Thunders. With that win, they currently find themselves at number three position with 8 wins in 12 matches. They have two games left to play and would be aiming for a top-two finish.

Batting first against the Thunders, Sydney Sixers posted a mammoth 197-run total in 20 overs. In-form batsman, Josh Phillips played, yet another, stellar knock of 57 runs off 35 deliveries. Hughes also gave him brilliant support with a 66-run knock in 48 deliveries. Moises Henriques, later played an unbeaten 47-run knock in just 27 balls to guide the team to an imposing total.

In reply, Sydney Thunders were in the chase till just the first four overs. Alex Hales looked good for his 18-ball 23. However, once he got out in the 6th over, wickets fell at regular intervals and Thunders never got the momentum they needed in the chase thereafter.

Sydney Thunders managed to score only 137 runs in the second innings. Steve O’Keefe starred with the ball for Sydney Sixers as he picked 4 wickets for just 18 runs in 4 overs. Ben Dwarshuis picked 2 for 23, while Henriques and Hayden Kerr picked one wicket apiece.
