BCCI puts big barred on IPL players, New Rules implemented, Foreign Players can’t forfeit season without informing
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering a policy that will allow players to play in the IPL without any reason.
The BCCI has taken this step after some franchises raised concerns in this regard. According to a report in CricketBuzz, in a recent meeting of the IPL’s Governing Council (GC).
The members discussed ways to stem the tide of players pulling out of the tournament after they were bought at a low price in the auction.
GC members stated that GC has a commitment to the franchise, which is an important player in the league.
They bid for a player after a lot of planning, so if a player backs out for trivial reasons, their calculations go awry. A source close to the incident said, “There will be no comprehensive policy to bar all players who are out of IPL from playing in the IPL for a few years.
This will be taken on a case by case basis and before initiating the proceedings some research will be done to find out whether the reason is really true or not.
Injuries or international commitments are generally considered acceptable, but recently many players have been ruled out for other reasons.
