Ben White insists he hasn’t been paying much attention to talk of an imminent move to Emirates Stadium.

What did Ben White say?

England International Ben White admitted that rumors linking him to a move to Arsenal are welcome, but the Brighton defender also says he doesn’t speak to his teammates about his future. Ben White became a major target for Arsenal amid the 2020-21 Brighton campaign, as he became one of the most important members of the Graham Potter’s squad. The two clubs are now close to agreeing on a £ 50m deal, with the Gunners’ first £ 40m offer for Ben White turned down and the 23-year-old admitted he is flattered by their interest. The Brighton star said it’s nice, it has happened quite a lot in the last two years, there has been a lot of buzz. However, when asked if he was talking to his fellow Brighton or England squadmates about a potential Arsenal transfer, Ben White replied that not really. According to Ben White, you don’t know what is true and what is not, so there is no point in talking about it.

Not much about Ben White

Ben White signed a new four-year deal with Brighton after returning from a loan spell at Leeds United last summer, initially making his way to the first team at Amex Stadium back in 2016. The center-back, who was also loaned to Newport County and Peterborough, went on to play 36 of The Seagulls’ 38 Premier League games in 2020-21, helping them comfortably avoid relegation. Ben White’s performances earned him a challenge to Gareth Southgate’s England squad and made the final cut to the European Championship after Liverpool’s Alexander-Arnold’s Trent was sidelined through injury but is still looking for his opening minutes ahead of the round from 16 clashes against Germany.
