Bernd Leno insisted he didn’t want to leave Arsenal, outlining his commitment to helping the club reach the Champions League again.

Leno doesn’t want to run from Arsenal

Bernd ended a £ 23 million move at Emirates Stadium from Bayer Leverkusen in 2018, risking outside Germany for the first time in his professional career in the process. The 29-year-old has since nailed the number one spot on Arsenal’s squad, however, it has been suggested that he be one of the first team’s few stars, likely to serve in the summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta is predicted to change his team after the tumultuous 2020-21 campaign, but Bernd Leno dismissed the ongoing speculation surrounding his future, showing that he intends to see out the final two years of his contract.

Bernd Leno said he doesn’t want to run away from here and feels good and wants to be successful again with Arsenal! Leno also said that Arsenal is a big club that is grossly underrated in Germany, has many Arsenal fans around the world and still has a two-year contract and hopes to play the Champions League again with Arsenal. Bernd left the door open for committing a new challenge away from north London at one point or another, nevertheless, with him his belief that he still has many summit years ahead of him.

How has Bernd Leno performed this season?

Emiliano Martinez made a compelling case to replace Bernd between the sticks permanently after joining, while he was injured at the end of the 2019-20 campaign. However Mikel ultimately decided to stay loyal to Bernd after he was cleared to play again with Emiliano, subsequently sold to Aston Villa for £ 20 million. Bernd has since struggled to recoup his manager, letting major mistakes creep into his game as the Gunners slipped out of contention for the Premier League’s top trophies and top four finishes. Bernd showed in 47 games through the entire fight for Mikel Arteta’s side, but was only able to record 15 shutouts while conceding 47 goals.
