The 22-year-old has become the first-ever player under the age of 23 to win the triple crown of the Premier League (Manchester City), LaLiga (Real Madrid) and Serie A (Milan).
Brahim has a second year on loan at AC Milan
Brahim Diaz has had a good season on loan at AC Milan, having made 31 Serie A appearances with three goals and three assists, but his future remains uncertain as a Real Madrid player. The 22-year-old has become the first-ever player under the age of 23 to win the triple crown of the Premier League (Manchester City), LaLiga Santander (Real Madrid) and Serie A (Milan). In theory, Brahim has a second year on loan at the Rossoneri in store, but he can evade that second year if Real Madrid were to get in the way. Brahim wears the No.10 shirt at Milan and is loved by the coach, Stefano Pioli, even if he has not been a starter all the time in the second part of the season.
The Rossoneri want to buy Diaz from Real Madrid
But his 31 games played to show a high regularity of minutes. Therefore, the option to stay there for the second year of this loan spell is very viable. All parties would benefit. The Rossoneri want to buy him from Real Madrid, who paid City a fee of 17 million euros plus seven million euros in add-ons in January 2019. Real Madrid and Milan could reach an agreement, but, in that case, Los Blancos would have an option to repurchase him. They do not want to release the player completely. The Malaga-born playmaker would see this as a good idea for two reasons: he wants to succeed in his country, Spain, and he wants to be close to his family, who continue to live in the capital, with his father still managing all his professional affairs.
Returning to Real Madrid would, of course, entail a risk: playing fewer minutes, as competition is high in that area of the pitch (Rodrygo Goes, Fede Valverde and Marco Asensio, to name just three). Therefore, Brahim would have to earn his place, something he has already done at Milan. He has a contract at with Los Blancos until 2025.
