Paris Saint Germain striker Edison Cavani seems to be ready with the Spanish giants to submit a final offer next week. The Uruguayan has verbally agreed to join Atletico Madrid before the January transfer window slams shut.

Atletico will submit a final offer for Cavani on Monday to finalize a deal later this week.

Different Sources have also relayed that “the operation is still complicated,” as the Club initially tabled an offer of €10 million but saw that sporting director Leonardo rejected it.

PSG Should snub a second bid, but Cavani’s future would still be very uncertain, with Chelsea and Man United also thinking to be interested in him as soon as he becomes a free agent at the end of the term.

Cavani’s Future Still Unclear: Atletico Madrid has one more Player Under Consideration

If a move for Cavani falls through, Atleti has Beijing Guoan’s Cedric Bakambu under consideration.

Edison is happy to move to Wanda Metropolitano this month. However, although he wants more time to think his summer options over if PSG block an early departure.

At a Saturday’s press conference, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel stated that Cavani’s future ‘is not clear’. And consequently would not make the trip to clash against Lille.

Chelsea have also enquired about signing the Cavani on loan, as Lampard looks forward to bringing in extra cover for Tammy Abraham in a short time.

However, Cavani preferred Atletico Madrid as his next destination. He remains in permanent contact with the Club’s head coach Diego Simeone as he is looking for a longer-term agreement.

The experienced frontman has played the last seven years of his career for PSG, scoring 195 goals in 269 appearances across all competitions.

He struggled to niggling injury problems, which have limited his contribution this season.

The 32-year-old Cavani has only managed to score five goals in 13 outings. Mbappe, Neymar, and Di Maria also keeping him out of the starting eleven. As a result, the Uruguayan is leaving the French Capital.

PSG are at the top of Ligue 1 at the moment. They seem to be ready for a strong challenge in the Champions League with a last 16 tie against Borussia Dortmund on the horizon.
