Brendan Rodgers says he doesn’t think of the growing gap behind Liverpool. His side, Leicester City held to a draw by a battling Norwich at King Power Stadium.

Leicester City remains second in the Premier League title race. The club lies 10 points behind Liverpool following their hard-fought win over Watford.

When asked of the blow to his side’s title ambitions, Rodgers said, “It’s  not something we’ve spoken about, everyone else has.”

“These players have been brilliant. It  says everything we have drawn a game and everyone is disappointed.”

“We weren’t quite at our level but we managed to get back and get a point. We will press the reset button and get ready for a quarter-final on Wednesday.”

Norwich showed quite an impressive match. The club took the lead when Teemu Pukki slotted home after being sent through by Emiliano Buendia.

However, their lead only lasted 12 minutes as Leicester equalized. Jamie Vardy’s bullet header was turned into the net by Norwich keeper Tim Krul.

Both sides pressed hard for a winner in an entertaining second half. Vardy went tice but neither of the sides could find a way through.

The point, however, sees Norwich close the gap on Aston Villa and Southampton to three points but they remain 19th.

Leicester’s title race

The Foxes had won their last eight league games. None including the Carabao Cup victory over Burton Albion. The club had overtaken the reigning champions Manchester City as Liverpool’s chief rival in the Premier League title race.

Despite having picked up 25 of the last 27 points, the club sits 10 points adrift of Liverpool.

And while they still have the division’s best defensive record, there are sterner tests to come.

If Rodger’s side is beaten at the Etihad, their chances of replicating their stunning 2015-16 title-winning campaign are surely almost all but diminished.

However, if they can pick themselves up after this setback and pull off an unlikely victory against the reigning champions, their confidence will go through the roof ahead of a massive Boxing Day clash with Liverpool.
