Bayer Leverkusen vs RB Leipzig

Gerardo Seoane’s side will also find extra confidence from their 3-1 H2H win over RB Leipzig in the reverse fixture, though Leverkusen have recorded a win-rate of just 18 per cent across their previous 11 Bundesliga H2Hs – their lowest against any current top-flight outfit.

Bayer Leverkusen

A three-match unbeaten Bundesliga run has done a lot to re-establish Bayer Leverkusen as Germany’s third-best side this campaign, though there’s still plenty of work to be done if they’re to claim Champions League qualification for next season. Just one loss from their prior nine home league outings has underpinned Leverkusen’s domestic success of late, especially as they’ve netted two or more goals in seven of those outings.

The hosts have also never beaten Leipzig at home in the Bundesliga previously, however a quick start could aid a first H2H victory here, given that Leverkusen have only been behind at half-time once at the BayArena all season.

RB Leipzig

Visiting Leipzig progressed to the Europa League semi-finals in midweek thanks to a 2-0 win away to Italian side Atalanta, a result that in turn made it 13 competitive matches without a loss for Domenico Tedesco’s side. Seven of those nine wins have seen the visitors notch three or more goals, so another entertaining affair could be on offer in this clash. The ‘Red Bulls’ could actually leapfrog Leverkusen here with a win, and the fact that they’ve netted in all 11 previous Bundesliga H2Hs could prove something of a lucky omen. Leipzig also currently boast the league’s joint-best defence on the road, conceding just 1.14 goals on average per away league match!

Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick has 20 league strikes this season, though only five have been match openers. Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku has a staggering 43 goal contributions for Leipzig this campaign, with seven of his last nine Bundesliga, strikes coming away from home. Leipzig’s Bundesliga fixtures this season have averaged a league-low 8.14 total match corners.
