A return to the Allianz Arena will be welcomed then for Bayern, who have won ten of their 12 home Bundesliga clashes this campaign.

Bayern Munich

A late 1-0 victory on the road against Eintracht Frankfurt last time out has Bavarian giants Bayern Munich cruising towards a tenth straight Bundesliga title. That victory made it back-to-back successes after a minor blip which saw Julian Nagelsmann’s side unusually go winless in their prior two competitive outings, although both those poor results came on the road. A return to the Allianz Arena will be welcomed then for Bayern, who have won ten of their 12 home Bundesliga clashes this campaign. Thanks to Robert Lewandowski & co, seven of those victories have seen the free-scoring league leaders net three or more times, although a return of just five clean sheets during that stint remains a slight concern, especially given Bayer Leverkusen’s own upturn in attacking form of late.

Bayer Leverkusen

Heading into this heavyweight clash sat third in the Bundesliga standings, Leverkusen have found themselves in fantastic recent form, winning five of their previous six league outings. A routine 3-0 victory over struggling Arminia Bielefeld last time out extended that streak, whilst it also made it seven straight matches in which they’ve netted two or more goals. Leverkusen did fall on the road in their last away match though, conceding two very late goals to lose 3-2 against Mainz. Yet despite that loss, Gerardo Seoane’s side remain strong away from home, losing just three of their 12 Bundesliga away matches. The visitors also won 2-1 the last time this H2H was played at the Allianz Arena in front of fans, back in 2019, which may prove a promising omen as fans make a return to the stands for this match!

Bayern’s Leroy Sane netted the winner last time out, and five of his 13 competitive goals this season have now been registered from the 70th to 75th minute. Meanwhile, Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby is in red-hot form after being involved in at least one goal in five consecutive Bundesliga outings. Bayern have received just 20 Bundesliga yellow cards this campaign (0.83 on average) – the competition’s lowest tally.
