The first match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia will be played in Nagpur from 9 February to 13 February 2023. A piece of big news is coming before this test match.

According to reports, Ausutralia’s all-around sensation did not bat during the Visitors’ practice session at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur for the first test.

However, Green was seen doing some fitness training. The team management has opted for a cautious approach to ensure his injury is not aggravated but he is expected to miss the first test match of the series.

The 23-year-old batting all-rounder Green has still not recovered from his injury,  he received the injury against South Africa’s gun bowler Nortje and went straight to the gloves of Cameron Green. Due to this injury, his finger was fractured. Australia team’s vice-captain Steve Smith has given a big update on Cameron Green’s injury, from which it can be assumed that he may be out of the first match.

Giving an update on Cameron Green’s injury, Steve Smith said, ‘I don’t think he will be able to play the first Test, I don’t think he has faced fast bowlers yet. So I dare say he won’t play but who knows? I’m not quite sure. We will wait and see.

Australia head coach Andrew McDonald recently spoke about Cameron Green saying that if Cameron is not fit to bowl, he could be given a chance as a specialist batter, but If he is unable to make a place in the playing XI as a batter, then Matt Renshaw and Peter Handscomb can be looked at in his place.
